Tonight I was completing my normal Tuesday evening routine of emptying the dishwasher, cleaning up the kitchen (with two children I am AMAZED at how messy it gets every stinkin' day...gross!), getting lunches ready for tomorrow, prepping for my work day and a melody just started playing in my mind. No words came with it though. Just this intense melody. Over and over it carried on, and even as I got ready for bed it echoed loudly. Music is a beautiful thing isn't it? I had to find this harmony. As I scrolled through my new playlists "Mercy" by Amanda Cook from the album "Brave New World" starts. My eyes lifted from my phone as my brain immediately recognized the melody it had already been playing. The words flowed in and with each exhale my heart felt renewed. Thank you Lord. Thank you for loving me [us]. Thank you for forgiving, and for freeing me [us] from the heaviness of this world. For teaching me [us] what it REALLY means to let go and let you write your story in our lives. It will look different for everyone but are you willing to let Him have you? Our Savior's character is one of mercy and grace. The lyrics are below. Such heartwarming words and when they are in tune could anything be better? A small glimpse of heaven on earth. Yes Lord, we hear you, and we will awake and spend our days loving the one who has raised us up.
'My past embraced
My sin forgiven
I’m blameless in Your sight
My history rewritten
Cause You delight in showing mercy
And mercy triumphs over judgement
Oh Love, great Love
Fear cannot be found in You
And there will never be a day
You’re uncertain of the ones you choose
So I will awake
And spend my days
Loving the One who has raised me up
From death to life
From wrong to right
You’re making all things beautiful'
